  • Adding Images in Posts

      In order to add an image to a discussion, you need to first have a url to the image. This means that you have to upload the image to somewhere on the internet.

      One easy way to do this is to use www. www.postimage.com.

      You need to upload your image (remember anyone can see the image by reading a posting here, or other methods). After you upload the image you need to copy the 'html' line and paste it into a discussion comment.

      Here is the format of an image in html. (only needed if you do not use postimage.org)

      <img src="http://site.com/pictlink.jpg"/>

      This forum does not use BBCode - rather it uses html.

  • Adding Link

      You can add a link to a posting: Copy the template below, and replace xxx with the URL, and yyy with what you want to call it (which can be the same as the URL).

      <a href="xxx">yyy</a>

    No, sorry, you will have to buy a Mac if you want Yep or Leap.

    <strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />Three cheers for you! The best software should reside on the best hardware!

    I'm in two minds on this one. On the one hand, I'd kill for this functionality on the Vista laptop I use for work. I'm a teacher, so I'm juggling literally thousands of PDFs, documents, images etc spanning dozens of topics across several different courses. But on the other hand, this could just be the killer functionality which tips me over to replacing my Vista machine with a Mac in due course, which is probably no bad thing.

    If Apple (or Microsoft) had the foresight, they'd offer you a vast sum of money to buy this technology from you. It's exactly what OS designers have been talking about putting on top of the filesystem for years, but they've never actually worked out how to do it properly.

    We currently have no plans for releasing either Yep or Leap. For a bunch of reasons: It would take a lot of work to implement, time that could be spent on implementing better features into the Mac.. and that many of the features in both Yep and Leap are Mac only. For example, almost all of Yep is based around Apple's built in PDF tools. To port Yep to PC, we would need to license or write our own PDF tools, either of which would require a lot of work and money.

    <strong>Guest:</strong><br /><br />TY, Bullfrog, I fully intend to. I'm busy tagging, just now, as you can imagine. I have yet to discover the full power of Leap but I've made quite a bit of progress today. Haven't used Yep that much but the tagging seems very user-friendly.
